Dogs don't want anything to do with money or belongings; that's part of what makes them so wonderful. Unhindered by human possessions, dogs just want to eat good treats, run on the beach, swim in a pool, and honk their favorite toy as they trot into the sunset. Life is pretty simple for a dog. However, this aunt not only loved her dog, Toby, like a bone-a-fide son, she wanted to ensure that her estate would be preserved just long enough for this good boy to live out the life he deserved long after she was gone.
When the niece and nephew, who were living together at the time, took Toby in while their Aunt Bea was falling ill, they didn't realize until after her passing that Toby was the key that unlocked her entire fortune. Toby was a test that the nephew never passed.
